Pupil Premium

At Kedington, we understand that there are common barriers to learning for disadvantaged children. The challenges are varied and there is no “one size fits all”.

Our ultimate objectives are:

• To narrow the attainment gap between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged pupils.
• For all disadvantaged pupils in school to make or exceed nationally expected progress rates.
• To support our children’s health and well-being to enable them to access learning at an appropriate level.
• To not let economic disadvantage be a barrier to opportunities outside of school

The government funds the school each year with an extra amount for the number of children who:-

• are currently eligible and registered for Free School Meals or
• have been registered for Free School Meals in the last six years, referred to as “Ever 6”, or
• have been in local authority care one day or more, referred to as “Looked After”, or
• whose parents are in the Armed Forces.

How we spend this money is outlined in our Pupil Premium Strategy document.

All children eligible for pupil premium funding also receive a package of support to help them to feel equal and be able to make the most of their time in school. This includes:

Your child will be entitled to the following:

• 2 x sweatshirts or cardigans each school year
• 50% off the parental contribution to school trips
• 50% off the cost of any chargeable clubs
• 50% off the cost of any chargeable activities in school (e.g. special events)

PE Premium

The PE Premium is paid to all schools annually in order to improve provision and participation and to encourage children to have a healthier lifestyle.
