Welcome to Tigers' class! Our teacher is Miss Tillmanns.

The children have so much learning to do in this class. Coming up from Reception, they are introduced to a slightly more formal setting but still instilling a love of learning with lots of opportunities for learning through play. The children are introduced to themed topics such as The Great Fire of London, which is always great fun, especially when the firemen come to Kedington! Towards the end of year one, the children get ready for year two by getting used to a more structured day of lessons in mornings and afternoons.

A typical day in Tigers' class includes Literacy, Maths, Phonics and Guided Reading. On Monday and Wednesday afternoons we have PE. We also get the chance to learn French and Music on a Tuesday.

This Spring term, the children have spellings to learn. These are high frequency words which the children will come across often in their writing and reading, therefore it is really important they can spell them. Spelling tests are on Mondays.

We always try to change reading books if your child's learning log is in the YES box. Don't forget we have a reading challenge this term. Bronze award if you read 10 books, Silver for 20 books and Gold award for 30 books! So find that inner book worm.
